A kitchen and dining room knocked into one
In November 2023 Brick2Brick UK took out the wall and a cupboard between a kitchen and a dining room, propped the ceiling, fitted a steel and finished the new ceiling, making one kitchen-diner. The photos below show each stage.

Recent job carried out by the team removing a wall, cupboard and installing a steel to transform this kitchen into a kitchen dining room.

What does a knock-through involve?
If the wall holds up anything above, the floor or ceiling is propped first. The wall comes out, and a steel beam goes in on padstones at each end to carry the load. The steel is sized by a structural engineer, and the work may need building regulations approval. Then the ceiling and walls are made good, ready for the new kitchen.
Does Brick2Brick UK do other knock-throughs?
Often. In July 2023 the team took out a wall, fitted a steel and blocked up old windows and doors. In April 2025 a knock-through made room for a fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer. And in 2025 another customer had a couple of walls taken out to reshape the downstairs into a kitchen-diner. See renovations for those jobs and the customers’ reviews.
