Patios and landscaping
Fence2Fence UK lays patios and landscapes gardens, with the same team as Brick2Brick UK, which did landscaping before Fence2Fence UK launched in February 2026. Recent jobs run from 130 square metres of porcelain to a multi-level patio with steps and raised beds.

What garden work does Fence2Fence UK do?
The garden work includes:
- Porcelain patios: 130 square metres of porcelain on a 2026 job, and a Worcestershire patio prepared for porcelain in May 2026.
- Multi-level patios with steps and raised beds, built on a Worcestershire extension job in 2026.
- Sandstone-style paving with timber sleeper steps (July 2024).
- A new lawn, a few low walls and a soakaway for a regular customer (June 2026).
- Old decking taken out and replaced with steps and a brick wall.
- Garden clearance in Solihull (September 2025) and a landscaping job in Stourbridge (February 2026).

A patio on more than one level
How is a patio base prepared?
The ground is dug out and a compacted sub-base laid, with a fall so rainwater runs away from the house. Porcelain slabs are dense and take in very little water, so they are laid on a full bed of mortar, usually with a primer on the back of each slab to help it bond. Levels, steps and walls are set out before any slab goes down.
On a Worcestershire porcelain job in May 2026, the base was prepared in stages before the slabs went down.
Great progress by the team on our Worcestershire job in the preparation for the porcelain. Great project to watch grow.

Can the patio be part of a bigger job?
Yes. One Worcestershire customer had it all done in steps through 2026: Brick2Brick UK built the extension, then the multi-level patio and landscaping, and Fence2Fence UK finished with a new fence. See the extension, patio and fence.
From the extension to the patio. Great work by the teams

What about drainage in the garden?
Water has to go somewhere. A soakaway is a pit filled with rubble or crates that lets rainwater soak slowly into the ground; the team put one in with a new lawn in June 2026. On another job they laid new channel drains with a new concrete slab. See groundworks.

Do you need planning permission for a patio?
In a front garden, the Planning Portal says a hard surface of more than 5 square metres needs planning permission unless it is permeable or drains to a lawn or border. It notes that patios and driveways away from the front garden have different rules, so check with your council. See also driveways.

What customers say
Liam and his team came and built our extension on our property and removed bushes from garden and installed new fence. Liam and his team were polite, clean, friendly, always on time and nothing was too much trouble. Liam was always there to help guide my wife and I throughout the build. We couldn't recommend Liam and his team enough 5☆. They definitely are the best 100%. We definitely will be Brick2Brick in the future. Thankyou again
